SkipSponsor AI — Terms of Use
Effective date: October 15, 2026 · Version 2026-10-15 · Applies to SkipSponsor AI 1.1.0 and later
These terms cover the SkipSponsor AI browser extension and the backend it calls (together, "SkipSponsor AI"). The Privacy Policy explains what data is processed and why.
1. Who we are
SkipSponsor AI is provided by Devspeak S.A.S. (DevSpeak Labs, "we", "us"), a Colombian company (Cll. 7D # 43A - 40, Piso 8, Medellín, Antioquia 050022, Colombia). Contact: info@devspeak.dev. By installing or using SkipSponsor AI you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the extension.
2. What SkipSponsor AI does
SkipSponsor AI looks for sponsor reads in the captions of the YouTube video you are watching and skips them according to your settings. It is free: there is no account, no subscription and no payment. Each installation has a daily allowance of new analyses; videos that were already analyzed do not count against it.
Detection is automatic and uses an AI model. It can be wrong: it can skip something that is not a sponsor read or miss one that is. You can undo a skip, turn skipping off for a channel, or switch the extension off at any time. SkipSponsor AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
3. Your use
- Use SkipSponsor AI only for your own viewing and in line with the law and with YouTube's terms that apply to you.
- Do not try to get around the daily allowance or rate limits, overload or attack the backend, or use it to build a competing service or dataset.
- We may limit or block an installation that breaks these rules.
4. Software licence
The source code of the extension and the backend is published at https://github.com/juanjaragavi/skip-sponsor-ai under the MIT License, which governs your use of the code. These terms govern your use of the service we operate (the backend and the extension as distributed by us). The names SkipSponsor AI and DevSpeak Labs belong to Devspeak S.A.S..
5. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or stop SkipSponsor AI or its backend at any time, for example to control costs or during maintenance. When the backend is unavailable, videos still play; they are just not skipped.
6. No warranty and limitation of liability
SkipSponsor AI is provided free of charge, as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Devspeak S.A.S. is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of SkipSponsor AI. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Colombian law, including for fraud (dolo) or gross negligence, or the mandatory rights you have as a consumer under Colombian law (Ley 1480 de 2011) or the law of your country.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Disputes go to the competent courts of Bogotá D.C., Colombia, without prejudice to any mandatory forum or law that protects you as a consumer; in Colombia you may also complain to the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC).
8. Changes and contact
If these terms change, the effective date and version above change, and the previous versions stay available in the history of TERMS.md on GitHub. Material changes are announced in the extension's release notes before they take effect.
